

Glenn Alan Baker, 67 of Jupiter, FL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 27, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Youngstown, OH on May 19, 1952; the son of the late Donald G. Baker and Harriet L. Krebs.
He spent most of his childhood in Schuylkill County, PA and a few years in Tom’s River, NJ, where he discovered his love of surfing. Glenn graduated from Blue Mountain High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement and Corrections from Penn State University. Glenn was employed at Pottsville Police Department for one year and as a Deputy Sheriff for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for 29 1/2 years. During his time at PBSO he was a road deputy, member of the Marine Unit and a pilot in the Aviation Unit for over 23 years. He was a helicopter flight instructor and one of the first pilots to fly the Trauma Hawk, which he did for over nine years. He also served in the Army National Guard Reserves and the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. After retirement, he continued to be active as a pilot working for the South Florida Water Management District.
Glenn’s Christian faith was very important to him. His great desire to honor God and serve others resulted in several mission trips including to Romania, Africa and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 28 years; two sons, Daniel and Brian; a sister, Wendy Jenkins; a half-brother, Doug (Cindy) Baker and two half-sisters, Catherine Baker and Karen Baker.
Glenn will always be remembered for his faith and strength during his trials, his unfailing love for his wife and sons, his dedication to his work, and his willingness to serve others.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6 at 11am at Calvary Church, 10100 W. Indiantown Rd, Jupiter, FL 33478. Burial will be held at 3:00 pm at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Rd, Tequesta, FL 33469. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sari Center, an integrative cancer treatment center in Palm Beach Gardens or to Livada Orphan Care, 2001W. Plano Pkwy, Suite 3430, Plano TX 75075.
