During World War II, he served on the U.S.S. Tripoli, an aircraft carrier based in the Pacific. Following the war he and his brother Alfred owned and operated a successful menswear and yachting uniform business with locations in Port Washington and West Palm Beach.
Harold will be sorely missed by his beloved wife of 70 years, Georgia Zeidel, his daughters and their husbands: Diana Zeidel and Jon Seymour, Sandra and Jim Sergison, and Susan and Steve Getlan; his eight grandchildren: Jayson and Matthew Merrill, Christine Cupp, and their families; Alex, Sam and Michelle Getlan; Elizabeth and William Sergison; six great children; and, a special nephew and his wife, Bruce and Judy Zeidel. He was predeceased by his darling daughter, Janet Cupp, and his dear brother, Alfred, both of whom died last year.
Harold was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was a kind and caring man, bringing joy and laughter to all around him. He loved his family, friends, and warm puppy noses, followed closely by smartly tailored clothes and a well hit tennis ball. Oh -- and those N.Y. Jets!
The funeral will be held at the Aycock Riverside Funeral Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter on Wednesday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m, with visitation at 9:30 before the service.
Arrangements under the direction of Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, Jupiter, FL.
