Kathleen Louise Lewis

Passed away at the age of 68 on September 9, 2015 in Jupiter Farms, Florida of natural causes. She was born March 1st, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Calhoun High School and went on to graduate from Kings County Nursing School. She became a registered nurse. Kathy worked at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, NH as an Oncology nurse in the 1970’s. She then moved to Manhattan and worked as a critical care nurse at New York Hospital in the 1980’s. In 1985, she moved to Coconut Creek, Florida and began work at Boca Raton Community Hospital before moving on to in home private duty nursing for various agencies until her death. She cared for one patient for over 20 years working through Senior Hart Nursing Agency. In her married years she did volunteer work for the United Way, Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.

Kathy lost her beloved parents Arthur Emmanuel Mintz and Gladys May Yanak Mintz in 2004. She also lost her first grandchildren, twins Daniel Lee Jones and Christian Michael Jones in 2002. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Jennifer Beth Lewis Jones of Jupiter Farms, FL, her 3 grandchildren Eden Faith Jones, age 12 and twins Autumn Grace Jones and Asher Stephen Jones, both age 10. Son-in-law Mr. Stephen Edward Jones of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by her only sister, Mrs. Deborah Ann Mintz Toran of Merrick, NY, niece Laura Adrienne Jacqueline Toran of Merrick, NY, nephew Gregory Dean Parker Toran of Amity Harbor, NY. She is also survived by many beloved cousins and her Aunt Grace Yanak of Marlton, NJ. Kathy, although raised Jewish, in 2006, she became a Christian and was comforted by her faith.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 14th from 1-3 PM, with funeral services to begin at 3PM, Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter. Entombment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta.
