Larger than life, Lynn Eisenhauer, (nee Merkle) of Jupiter, FL, passed away on January 5, joining her beloved husband, Larry, who predeceased her on January 29, 2020. Together, they were affectionately known as “The Funsters,” legendary for their love of life and others.
Lynn was known for her vibrant personality, her beauty, and her faith. The litany of descriptions captured by friends following news of her death include: kind, generous, talented, wonderful, creative, patriotic, big hearted, and childlike. Her entrance into a room - often in costume - was dynamic and elicited smiles of delight from those present. She welcomed friends as loving family members and offered gracious hospitality to whomever crossed her threshold; she particularly loved and attracted children. Lynn displayed her considerable and varied talents as an elementary school teacher, director of high school plays, professional singer in her band, “Lynnsway,” successful salesperson, and attentive landlord.
For 10 years, she volunteered driving senior citizens, making each ride in the van a “magical mystery tour.” She was regularly found in her blue gardening jacket working in the meditation garden at her Jupiter parish. Lynn’s proudest accomplishment and source of greatest earthly happiness was her 37-year marriage to her one and only love.
Originally from Massachusetts, and born to the late Frances and Earl Merkle, she is survived by siblings, Lauren (John) Harrington, Fred (Paula) Merkle, Lee Kemper. Mourning family members include, Laura Eisenhauer Ball, Danielle Eisenhauer Dwyer, Jennifer Eisenhauer and nieces and nephews to whom she was the favorite aunt and fairy Godmother.
