Marcia G Nappi, 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and GG went peacefully to join her heavenly Father surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 30th. She was a beautiful lady with a radiant smile and tenderness in her heart. It was truly a blessing to know her and be enriched with her love and friendship.
Marcia was born on December 27th, 1934, in New York, New York to the late Frederick Goetze and Margie Goetze Godsey. She graduated from Miss Fine's Day school in Princeton, New Jersey. Marcia then attended Wells College and graduated from Trinity College with Bachelor's of Arts in Philosophy and French Literature. Marcia and her husband, Robert Nappi, were married on August 30th, 1973.
Marcia was a philanthropist, housewife, and volunteer. Her Christian faith shined through in every facet of her life. Evident in her founding of Marcia G Nappi Family Foundation, her volunteerism, and many other acts of service to others. She was a voracious reader, talented artist and world traveler with her husband. Marcia could tell a story like no other, painting the scene of her latest adventure with immaculate detail. To the same effect was her dedication and love of athletics, witnessed when she won the women’s Northeast Singles Tennis Championship and her induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame at the Princeton Day School, formerly Miss Fine's Day School, for having played every sport. She had such an appreciation for the outdoors: her passion for the beauty of nature and the environment was seen into fruition, with her husband, in their preservation and transformation of the Kwiniaska Golf course in Shelburne, Vermont.
Marcia lived an accomplished life, in which one of her greatest joys was raising a family. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert A Nappi; her son, Richard Hatch and his wife Pam; daughter, Donna Hanlon; grandchildren, Misty Leonard and her husband Jeremy; Carrie Lagrow and her husband Matthew; and Jessica McKinney and husband Robert; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Katherine Leonard; Noah Dragoon; Macy and Clare Lagrow; and Caleb, Chelsea, and Preston McKinney; stepsisters, Marilyn Sahlberg of Maine and Christine Hedrick from Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
