Maria Petretta, 57, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2025, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Born on April 21, 1968, in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Maria was known for her deep love of family, animals, and the simple beauty of nature.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Alyssa Zola and Kaitlin Dodge; her sons-in-law, Mark Zola and Anthony Dodge; and her cherished grandchildren, Elliana and Mikayla. Maria is also survived by her father, Jerry Kammeier; her brother, Mitchell Kammeier; sister-in-law, Janette Kammeier; and nephew, Alex Kammeier. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Camille Kammeier.
Maria’s passions were rooted in the things she held closest to her heart—her garden, where she found peace and joy; the animals she adored and cared for, especially her beloved dogs, who were more than pets—they were her constant companions and a true source of comfort and unconditional love. Maria had a special connection with dogs and was known for her gentle, nurturing spirit toward all animals.
She also found joy in spending time with her friends and cherished the memories made with them over the years. But above all, Maria’s heart belonged to her family, whom she loved unconditionally and supported with grace, strength, and unwavering dedication.
Maria’s warmth, kindness, and deep love for her family, friends, and animals will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service to honor Maria’s life will be held on Friday, May 23, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458.
In lieu of flowers, Maria would have preferred donations to a dog rescue. She especially loved Southern Paw Inc, where her daughter adopted her first dog. https://www.southernpawsinc.org/donate
