
Born on January 19, 1941, Marvin was a proud graduate of Scott High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toledo and later completed his MBA at the University of Akron. A dedicated chemical engineer, Marvin began his career with PPG in Akron, Ohio, and spent the majority of his professional life with W.R. Grace in Cincinnati and Baltimore.
Marvin is survived by his beloved wife Carol; sister-in-law Sheila Odesky; nieces Bonnie Berland and Cheryl (Mitch) Moser; as well as great-nieces and nephews and great-grandnieces. He was predeceased by parents Marian and Butch Odesky; his brother Stan Odesky; and former wife Jean Odesky.
A man of intelligence, generosity, kindness, and unwavering conviction, Marvin was known for being supportive and steadfast—“solid as a rock.” He had a deep love for Carol that those around him could clearly see. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golf, tennis, basketball, following current events, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 19 at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, Florida. Shiva was held Sunday from 5-7 pm at the Odesky home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BallenIsles Charity Foundation in Palm Beach Gardens or Congregation Etz Chayim in Toledo.
Marvin’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
