Mary Marcella “Marty” (Newport) Bender, (83), of Jupiter passed away June 7, 2025 at Jupiter Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on July 15, 1941, to Michael A. "Sam" Newport and Marcella Schnyder Newport.
Marty was a 1959 graduate of Schulte High School in Terre Haute. She moved to Florida in 1962. In the 1970s, she began a career in banking and worked at many banks in northern Palm Beach County over the next 40 years.
Family and Friends were the cornerstone of Marty’s life. As the oldest of 9 children, she was always ready for the next sibling’s gathering imparting her memories and knowledge as a family historian and laughing at the family stories as if hearing them for the first time. As a wife, Mom and Grandma, she sowed the seeds for love of family, creating her greatest treasure. She had many talents to enrich the lives of those around her. Whether cooking for a group, sewing children’s clothes or costumes or giving of her time, Marty would be there for others. She also had a love of God, sharing her talents over the years with her church, most recently at Calvary Church Jupiter, where her circle of friends became like family to her. Family and friends celebrated Marty’s life together, just as she would’ve wanted.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, William “Bill” Bender; her children, Paul (Renie) Davisson, Mary “Terry” (Jim) Davey, Julie (Todd) Mullins, and Richard (Shane) Davisson; grandchildren, Erin Davisson, Samantha Davisson, Joshua (Bethany) Davey, Jessica (Chris) Krieger, Mindy (Cameron) Hauke, Jefferson (Cassie) Mullins, Emily (Blake) Rasor and Reed Davisson; 8 great grandchildren; her beloved beagles, K.D. and Luger; two sisters, Francie (Fred) Bailey and Kathy Newport; three brothers, Paul (Cathy) Newport, Bob (Carol) Newport, and Joe (Lili) Newport; sisters-in-law, Josie Newport, Kay Newport and Allyson Newport and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two children, Philip and Jennifer Davisson; her parents; three brothers, Sam, Mark and Mick and a sister-in-law, Ruth Newport.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Church Christ Fellowship 9625 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach, Gardens, Florida .
