He is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie (Bowman) Hayes, with whom he shared almost a decade of marriage filled with partnership, love, and resilience; his mother, Karen Hayes, whose presence in his life was constant and deeply cherished, holding a place in his heart that was truly unmatched; his father, Gregory Hayes and stepmother, Bonnie Hayes, of Wisconsin; and his brother, Sean Hayes and fiancée, Raana Heydaryan of Jupiter, Florida.
Throughout his life, Michael maintained strong ties to the friendships he built over the years—relationships that reflected his steady presence, humor, and the kind of reliability that made others feel supported and valued.
Michael was a proud and loving uncle to Brooke Hayes and Tyler Hayes, and to Matthew and his wife Jennifer Bowman, and niece Brittany Bowman, of Kennett, Missouri. He cherished his many nieces and nephews deeply, taking great pride in their lives and finding joy in every opportunity to be part of their world. His love for family extended far and wide, and he remained closely connected to both immediate and extended relatives throughout his life.
After years in Orlando, Michael and his wife, Leslie, relocated to Jupiter, Florida, to be closer to family—a place that truly felt like home. Being present for weekends, holidays, and everyday moments with those he loved most brought him immense joy.
A physically large man with an even larger heart, Michael had a presence that made people feel safe. He carried himself with a quiet strength and a natural instinct to protect others. He loved his country deeply and lived with a sense of duty and loyalty that shaped how he cared for those around him. Whether with family, friends, or even strangers, Michael was someone who stepped forward—steady, dependable, and always willing to stand beside others in moments that mattered.
Michael will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving son and brother, and a constant, dependable friend.
