Nancy Rae Brown

She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on July 20, 1937 to Ed and Esther Hawkins. Nancy graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1955. Nancy attended Ball State University, where she met James W. Brown. They were married on February 2, 1958.

Nancy became the ultimate military wife, as Jim spent the next 25 years serving in the US Navy. They raised their family while moving all over the world. Jim and Nancy were blessed in their retirement years living in Sun Lakes Country Club Retirement Community. Nancy filled her days playing golf, bridge, bowling, and bocce ball. She was an active member of PEO Sorority and the United Methodist Church. Nancy and

Jim were married for 61 years prior to Jim’s passing in 2019.

Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brad (Amy), Doug (Sandy), and

Raeann (Doug); her grandchildren; Travis (Chanelle) and Payton Blue; her step grandchildren,

Christina (Geza) Simon, Sheree Duncan, and David (Ashley) Duncan and her great grandson; Dawson James Blue.

Services will be held at a later date in Riverside, California where she will be laid to rest next to Jim.
