He was born on February 8, 1932, in Bloomfield, New Jersey to David and Viola Adolfson. After high school he attended Upsala College in East Orange, New Jersey. He began his career with Nabisco Foods. Upon leaving Nabisco he was hired by Metzindorf Flour Company as Sales Manager of the southern New Jersey area. His diverse expertise in Sales and Mechanical eventually lead him to be hired as Plant Manager for Stauffer Chemical Company, who manufactured Vinyl Wall Covering. Upon moving to Florida in 1970, he started his own Food Brokerage Company, which was later acquired by Budd Mayer Company in Miami. He retired in 1993 as Vice President of the Food Service Division. Norman is survived by Katherine, his wife of 46 years.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Karen Parsells. He is survived by his sons, David N. Adolfson, Craig W.Adolfson (Melissa), also by his stepdaughters, Sophie Lynn Brown, Claire Long and Arisa Carter. Grandchildren Robert, Kara, Katlyn, Dawn Fae, Corey William, Stephanie Katherine, Ryan, Deirdre, Mark, Michael and DaVanna.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, Florida, at 2:00 p.m. Internment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
