With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Patricia “Patti” C. Gagliardi, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, and a great source of comfort. To her grandchildren, she was simply and affectionately known as “Baba.”
Baba was the quintessential grandmother. Nothing lit up her face more than the sight of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved husband, whom she lovingly called “my Ton.” She never met a child she didn’t adore. No request from her grandchildren was ever too big; she spent endless hours playing in the pool with them until her feet were raw. She eagerly anticipated every visit, always preparing their favorite meals. At Baba’s table, dessert was always served first.
Sundays were sacred on Coral Way. Her secret gift was turning the mundane into magic, creating traditions that made her table longer, her home warmer, and her kitchen busier. She and Pops moved through the kitchen together as if it were a perfectly choreographed dance.
When she wasn’t cooking or baking for her family, you could find her playing cards, gossiping at the clothesline with Jane, browsing the aisles at HomeGoods with Carol, hosting a tea party, or enjoying a trip to the casino with her husband, Tony; her nephew, Jack; and her friends, Brenda and Dave.
Patti passed surrounded by her family. Her memory lives on through her husband of 66 years, Anthony Gagliardi; her children, Kathy, Richard, Marta, Rhonda, and Rene; her grandchildren, Allison, Nicholas, Sara, Toni, Hogan, and Charly; and her great-grandchildren, Andre and Bennett; as well as many cousins and dear friends. She is welcomed home by her eldest son, Tony Gagliardi Jr.; her parents, Catherine and John R. Fanning; her brothers, Richard and Jackie Fanning; her sisters-in-law, Maris and Barbara Fanning; and many loved ones in heaven. Her singing, laughter, and treasured recipes will continue to fill the kitchens and homes of those who love her for generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patti’s life at a visitation on Friday, March 27, at 3:00 pm with a service to occur at 5pm at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home in Jupiter. A burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park the following day, Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 am in Tequesta.
