Paul Kelly McHardy

Paul Kelly McHardy, age 63, of Jupiter Florida passed away on November 30, 2022, after a valiant battle with cancer, NHL in 2018 and AML in 2022. “I fought with everything I had, I never lost faith and I never lost hope.” For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Roman 8:18

Paul was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Louise and Allan McHardy. Paul graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1977 and listed in the United States Marine Corps. Basic training began at Parris Island, then on to Cherry Point “Training NCO” with Harrier Squadron and finally to Camp LeJeune from 1979-1981 as an E4 Radio Operator.

Upon returning home Paul was immediately hired by Florida Power and Light, where he worked as a Lineman for over 30 years. The brotherhood that Paul gained from his fellow FPL Linemen stretches from coast to coast and created lifelong friendships.

Paul greatest treasure here on earth was beautiful family. His sons Luke and Jon were his gifts from God. Paul loved coaching his boy’s baseball, bass fishing, camping at Yogi Bear, watching his eldest achieve his dream of playing college football and earning his master’s degree, and to see his youngest thru his senior year at college as a 4-year Dean List recipient. Paul’s leisure time was spent bass fishing wherever the fish were biting and long drives out to the country but most of Paul’s time was spent on his home property, every corner of his two acres was manicured with not a blade of grass out of place. His favorite place was on his swing under the oak tree, overlooking his masterpiece and he would say “I am blessed beyond words… God is good.”

To all whom Paul met, Paul would share his love of our Lord and Savior and prayed that each would secure a place in heaven. Without Him, we are lost, like a ship without a rudder. Only He can make the crooked way straight and the rough way smooth. His love for us is eternal.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 34 yrs., Elaine Marie McHardy; sons, Luke Allan McHardy (Ariel & Kian) and Jonathan Paul McHardy; brothers, Mark (Mary) McHardy, Timothy McHardy, David McHardy all of Oakland Park, FL; sister-in-law, Kristine (Dan) Botsford of PA; , Amanda M Story of NY; in-laws, Barbara and Kenneth McClune of NY; as well many wonderful friends, cousins, and extended family.

Paul is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy Louise and Allan McHardy and his -in-law, Frank P. Huber Jr.

As per Paul’s wishes there will be no service. A celebration of life to be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
