Born February 25th, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, Suzanne never met a stranger. Every person was just a friend she hadn’t met yet. Her kindness, exuberance and generosity were evident to all who knew her. Suzanne was the oldest of eight children born into a fun-loving Irish-Catholic household.
After graduating from University of Florida in 1975, Suzanne went on to be an elementary school teacher for many years. It was at University of Florida she met the love of her life on a blind date, Rick Capaldo, and they wed in 1975 going on to have two daughters, Meghan and Katie. Suzanne was also an integral part of the pharmacy she and Rick owned, Jupiter Pharmacy.
After Suzanne had her children, she dedicated her life to being a phenomenal mother. Over the years, she never missed a swim practice or swim meet - often getting up at 4:30am to drive the girls to morning swim practice. At meets she was known for bringing enough food to feed the entire swim team. She was the foundation of her family and the life of every party. She was an excellent gift giver, cook, baker, and holidays were a BIG deal at the Capaldo household. Suzanne always knew the right thing to say, with a knack for giving stellar advice, no matter what the situation. Whether it was supporting Katie through the Naval Academy or encouraging Meghan to pursue environmental engineering, she was always the girl’s biggest cheerleader and constant supporter. Her friends became family, participating in all vacations, holidays and parties celebrated.
Suzanne is predeceased by her parents, Joan and Robert, her husband, the Rickster, and her sister, MaryJane. She is survived by her children, Meghan (Gabe Henehan) and Katie (Evan Arrizza), her brothers and sisters (Bobby, Jimmy, Sean, Elizabeth, Maura and Liam) as well as her grandchildren (Finnegan, Ansley, Cecilia and Cole) nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Cox Science Center and Aquarium in Suzanne’s name.
