

He was born in Jersey City, NJ on April 21, 1941 and grew up in Kearny, NJ until entering the Air Force in May 1959.
He was stationed in Torrejon, Madrid, Spain, where he met and married Elisa Fernandez-Garcia on April 28, 1962.
After his discharge, he returned to Kearny, NJ with his wife and daughter, Marieli, where their son Thomas Frank was born.
They moved to Florida in 1966 where Tom was employed by Big 3 Industries, an industrial gas production company in Palm Beach Gardens. In 1972 he fulfilled his childhood dream to become a fireman by joining the volunteer fire department of Palm Beach Gardens, eventually becoming a full time paid member of the department.
He served with the Royal Palm Beach Fire Department (later merged with the Palm Beach County Fire Department) from 1984, in various capacities as Acting Chief, Executive Assistant and Fire Marshal, until his retirement in 2006.
He was also a Master Mason in good standing with Lodge 366.
He is survived by his wife, Elisa, daughter, Marieli Peak, son, Thomas F Vreeland, three grandchildren, Faith Peak, Felicia Peak and Matthew Vreeland, brother, Lewis, two nephews, Christopher and Joshua Vreeland, son-in-law, Michael Peak and sister-in-law, Jude Vreeland. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Vreeland.
