Mr. Hein was born in Queens, New York on July 26, 1943 to the late William John Hein Jr. and Marjorie Miller Hein. He was a retired oil broker from A.E. Bruggemann in Connecticut.
Survivors include his partner, Joan Ellington, Jupiter, Florida; daughter, Kimberly Hein Williams, Norwood, Massachusetts; and son, Jamey (Barrett) Hein, Ann Arbor, Michigan; grandchildren, Grace and John Williams, Emery and Myles Hein; and sisters, Marion (John) Ross, Northport, New York, and Janet (Dave) Plympton, Holtsville, New York.
John’s emphatic smile, laughter,and generous spirit were contagious qualities all those who met him immediately adored.
