
Arthur De Lima Sr., 68, of Makawao, passed away on November 10, 2011 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Puunene on November 7, 1943. Mr. De Lima, has served his country and community for over 47 years. A marine, retired Maui Police Department detective sergeant, retired liquor inspector, driving instructor for Maui Job Corps, volunteer security coordinator for the 4th of July Makawao Parade, president of Driver Education Hawaii, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and hunting partner that was on his Harley every chance he got. He is survived by his wife, Keiko De Lima; sons, Arthur (Renee) De Lima Jr., Takeshi (Yukiko) Mitsuhashi; daughters, Carol (Tommy) De Lima, Artrina (Gordon) De Lima, Dawn Kui (Sheldon) Hanks, Kristine (Johnny) De Lima; and sister, Lorraine (Harry) Gomes. Along with 25 grandchildren; (Arthur Jr) Wes (Lindsey), Gavin, Kaleo, Joe, Wyatt and Genee (Ronson); (Carol) Tj, Chase, Tiara and Noe; (Artrina) Brad, Kamalei, Karma and Nicole; (Kui) Justin, Lopaka, Greg, Kamaka, Madison and Liana; (Krissy) Kekoa, Layna, Peanut, Destiny and Kaylee. Also niece, Debra (Lorenzo) Alipio; nephew, Shelby (Raynelle) Gomes, daughter Shanelle (Mike), and Jeffrey (Tracy) Gomes, children Jason, Shawn, Casey, Kristin.
Services: Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Ballard Family Mortuary, service at 7:30 p.m., cremation to follow. We humbly ask family and friends to respect dad's memory by keeping this a drug and alcohol free event.
