Bernadette Noni Halaulani Shimojo, 63, of Kula, passed away on April 3, 2012 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born August 21, 1948 in Wailuku. Bernadette is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bernard Shimojo; sons, Alfred (Keoki) Hufana, Leslie Hufana; daughters, Candee (Michael) Beesing, Sandee Hufana; grandchildren, Christopher, Steven "Bradda", Leila, Patrick, Storm, Kai, and Chynna Hufana, Sadee Albiar, Taylor, Mikey, and Hope Beesing; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Jakaia Hufana; father, George Stephen (Barbara) Koko; mother, Janet Nishiyama; and was pre-deceased by her Hanai mother, Maryann Koko. She is also survived by her brother, Stephen Koko; sisters, Donna Sterling, Jeanette Spragling, Gwen Nishiyama, Sandra Ruiz, Leanne Epstein, Yolanda Patterson, Zelda Navarro, and Donna Navarro; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services: Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hana, Mass at 11 a.m., cremation to follow. Family requests Aloha attire and no flowers.
