John Joseph Alvarez, 33, of Mountain View, died on September 3, 2011 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He worked as a nursery worker at Kurtistown Nursery. He was also a member of Sandy Beach Crew. Funeral services are scheduled at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home, September 23, 2011, visitation at 5:00 PM, services 6:00 PM. He is survived by his father Elujino Alvarez Jr. of Hilo; mother Deborah (Clarence Jr.) Aveiro of Utah; grandparents Elujino (Christine) Alvarez Sr. of Keaau, Clarence,"Pappy" (Pua,"Gams") Aveiro Sr. of Honolulu; brothers, Elujino Alvarez III of Hilo, Abraham (Brittany) Alvarez Sr. of Mountain View; sister Stacey (Allan) Alvarez of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.
