Lena-Ann Iwalani Sakamoto

Lena-Ann Iwalani Sakamoto, 51, of Paia, Maui; passed away on January 10, 2015 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on October 20, 1963 in Hana, Maui. Lena was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren and two dogs Lilo and Keakea. All her nieces and nephews also had a very special place in heart. She loved helping family and friends and we will always remember her genuine generosity.

Visitations will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Ballard Family Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with service to begin at 6:00 p.m.; second day service will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita’s Church in Haiku on Monday, January 26, 2015; mass to begin at 11:00 a.m.; burial to follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku at 1:00 p.m.

Lena-Ann is survived by her husband, Adam Sakamoto; parents, Paddy “Maka” and Marie “Nene” Carvalho; daughter, Aisley-Marie Leinani (Fred Flores) Sakamoto; brothers, Leslie-James “Bozo” Carvalho, Lester-Paul Carvalho, Marshall (Lorraine) Carvalho; sisters, Alisa (Takeo) Takahashi, Mary (Barry) Cramer, Paddy-Lee Maile “Tiko” Carvaho, Opu’ulani (Initoni) Taiseni; 3 grandchildren, Ka’iwahieokawai’ula’iliahi M. Sakamoto-Flores, Keakaokoai’aikawaine’e D. Sakamoto-Flores, Heanula’iulukauikamololani K.L. Sakamoto-Flores; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She is predeceased by brothers, Lawrence, Domingo, and Carlos Carvalho; sisters, Arlene and Annette Carvalho
