

Napualani “Napua” Aiko Morinaga-Mahuna, a beloved daughter, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2023, at the age of 34. She was born on September 13, 1988, on the island of Lanai, raised in Honokowai, Maui and graduated from Lahainaluna High School. She recently worked as a Housekeeping Coordinator for Destination Residence Hawaii.
She is survived by her mother: Anne Morinaga-Mahuna (Rick Ryniak), and siblings; Jeffrey(Kendra) Mahuna, of WI, Kai (Michelle) Mahuna, of Kahului, Maui, Charlie Morinaga-Mahuna, and David Morinaga-Mahuna (Taylor Neizman) of Honokowai, Maui, Tina (Dan) Mitchell of OR, Rita (Bob) Bernzot of FL, Jodene (Jason) Davis of WA, and Tami (Arcadia) Duldulao, of Kahului, Maui, grandmother Utako Sakuratani of Sendai, Japan and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She is predeceased by her father: Charles K Mahuna, grandfather Masa Morinaga, grandfather Solomon D. Mahuna, grandmother Henrietta Kan Hai Mahuna, and nephew Isaiah DuldulaoNapua was vibrant, cheerful person. She enjoyed hanging out with friends, siblings and cousins. We will always remember her joyful laughter. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her – a beautiful soul who left this world too soon.
A Celebration of Napua’s life will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Ballard Family Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
