

On June 23rd, 1943 the family of Mateo Motulalo Falekaono and Ma’ulu’ulu Motu’ahala Falekaono was blessed with their 6th child, a son, Sepuloni Motulalo Falekaono at Ma’ufanga, Tongatapu. He went to school at Makamaka Elementary in Ma’ufanga and only completed 2nd grade then later worked just to help out his parents and family. He spent most of his time working as a gardener, a carpenter, a mechanic for the Catholic Church in Tonga serving the outer islands especially Ha’apai Island. He travelled and explored so many places during this time. Pagopago, American Samoa is where he started his own family and he was a CDL Trucker Driver for many years. He took an early retirement and moved with his family back to Tonga to teach his children the Tongan Culture. He was a small business owner of 35+ years, Sepuloni Tyre Services currently in operations in Ma’ufanga. Sepuloni travelled back and forth from Tonga to Maui where his children and grandchildren resides. With the borders closed during COVID-19, Sepuloni got to spend more family time here on Maui.
Sepuloni answered Yes to his call from our Lord to come home On March 22nd, 2023 at Newark, California under hospice at his youngest son’s residence surrounded by his beloved wife, loving children, grandchildren and families.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Tapaita Fangupo Motulalo. 3 Daughters, Molini Kaloni (Feleti Kaloni), Yvette M. Motulalo, Ofa Takui Totau( Pita Totau), 2 sons, Gordon Douglas Motulalo and Sepuloni Mateo Motulalo, Jr. (AnaMalia Tuita), 5 grandchildren, Malina Tapaita Motulalo, Filipe Jones Totau, Ano Makana Motulalo, Simanatalia Ailini Totau and Kapiolani Kakala Motulalo.
Sepuloni was the only remaining survivor of 11 children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mateo and Ma’ulu’ulu Motulalo, 6 brothers Tuipulotu Falekaono, Kulifa’u Falekaono, ‘Alifeleti Mateo, Finau Vena Falekaono, Laiti Falekono and Sosaia Atu Falekaono, 4 sisters, Veniola Taufa, Lusia Fā Vaea, Mele’ana Latu and Latu Hafoka
Friends and Families are welcome to join us in bidding our final goodbyes to our Papa on Saturday, April 15th, 2023 at St.Theresa Church in Kihei with visitation from 8:00am and a celebration mass at 12:00pm. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park-Garden of Meditation in Wailuku at 2:00pm
