Vickie Marie Benton

Vickie Marie Benton, 59 of Wailuku, Maui passed away on February 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 5, 1960 in San Jose, California to the late Adrian and Lillian Peneyra.

Vickie is survived by her daughters, Angela Rutledge, and Michelle Benton.

Vickie in her youth was beautifully ambitious, social, brave, & loyal. Many traits that blossomed to its fullest and became overwhelmingly present to everyone that she met. She was a lover of water sports and often excelled, especially at water skiing and windsurfing, a passion that was well known through her family and friends. She was artistic and creative, proud to show off her incredible gift. Vickie created joy by blasting her favorite songs in the moment, inviting people to connect, sing, dance, and let go. She was a big advocate for simple pleasures. If you were to ask her what kept her going, she would say love. Love to her was more than a relationship. It was a bond that she had with her birds (Kahana, Kalani, and Howard), her sisters (Lee Ann and Kathy), her niece, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends. For that we will always smile at her memory. Rest in love.

A scattering of ashes will be held at a later date.
