Allan passed away at Royal Inland Hospital December 30, 2025 after a short struggle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife Georgia of 48 years, his brother Gary Ross, nieces Dawn Tessier and Kristal Okamoto, nephews James Turner and Jarrett Turner, sister-in-law Susan Turner and brother-in-law Tayrn Hawthorne. His twin sister Anne Okamoto predeceased him.
Allan was born May 27,1952 in Vancouver. At age 6 he moved to Revelstoke where he and his siblings were raised by his cousin, Betty Sanders. Allan liked Revelstoke and always considered it his hometown.
Allan attended BCIT and graduated as a Forestry Technician. After several years in the forest industry, he became a Chartered Financial Planner and later ran a business with his partner, Penny Wright.
The business was sold when Allan was 52 and he was able to enjoy a long retirement. He liked travelling and particularly enjoyed going to Mexico.
In the last few years Allan’s big trips were limited due to health issues. He usually stayed close to home where he could spend the summer visiting with neighbours on the front lawn.
The family would like to thank the staff of RIH Emergency ward and 7 North for the compassion and care they showed Allan in his last days. Allan also wanted to thank Dr. Jason O’Connell for the excellent care he provided over the years.
Allan requested that there be no service. Condolences may be expressed through Schoening Funeral Service.
