Amelia Martha Frances Hollett

On July 13, 2026 Amelia Martha Frances Hollett (née Parsons) passed peacefully into the arms of her beloved Lord Jesus Christ.

She was sitting in her favorite chair, just waiting for the Call to go Home to her eternal rest.

Just a few hours before, she ate a good supper, then she checked the kitchen to see if help was needed with the dishes; seeing all was well there, she said, "Well, I'll just go sit down." Those were the last words we heard her speak.

Millie (that was her familiar name throughout most of her life) was born on October 8, 1923, at her childhood home in Harcourt, Trinity Bay, in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

She had one sister, Annie Gladys, who died at the age of five years, when Millie was only five months old. Five years later, a brother was born; his name was Samuel Thomas Parsons. He predeceased Millie in 2009.

Millie's Dad, John Sheppard Parsons, was an awesome carpenter and shipbuilder, which were very good skills to have because houses and boats will always be needed. Her Mom, Elizabeth Jane Parsons (née Luther), was a jolly woman who was well-loved by all of her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Millie, herself, was a jolly person as well; during her teenage years, she played the organ in her hometown Church. When she acquired a home of her own, she loved to welcome friends and strangers alike. Her skills included canning, cooking, baking, gardening, and needle crafts. She also dearly enjoyed reading and could read even to her dying day! What a blessing!

Millie was predeceased by her dearest love, Stanley Harold Hollett, in 2016, after 71 years of marriage. Stanley was born in North Harbour, Placentia Bay, NL in 1924. We would refer to the distance between their hometowns as "just across the neck". Their eldest son, Alec, predeceased Millie in 2025, at 78 years. Their second-eldest son, Wayne passed away in 2010, at 60 years. The younger daughter, Marilyn, went in 2024, at 67 years. Wayne's firstborn son, Jason Robert, passed in 1974, at 20 days. A granddaughter, Kirsten Eddy, predeceased Millie in 2018 at 23. Kirsten's daughter passed away in 2024 at the age of 9 years. A grandson, Lyndon Hollett (Wayne and Linda's son), passed over in 2024, at the age of 40 years.

Millie is survived by her elder daughter, Bernetta (Lloyd Eddy), and her youngest son, David Dale (Bonnie). Also, left to mourn are her daughters-in-law, Deborah (Alec), Linda (Wayne Hollett), and son-in-law, Gerald Wight (Marilyn).

Millie welcomed with great delight 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Her late son Alec and his wife, Joan (née Andrews), were blessed with daughter Joanne (Gerald Goodyear), and her children, Andrew Skeard and David Skeard; son John (Lisa Hayward), and their children, Justin Hollett and his daughter, Ella, and Jason Hunt and his son, Noah; daughter Glynis (Scot Rogers), and their children, Dustin (Beth Reiger) and his daughters, Charlotte and Elsie, and Kyle (Chaun Fang); and daughter Bernetta (Wally Bennett), and their child, Keersten Craig (Maliek Dulude), and her daughter, Lilah Dulude.

Her late son Wayne and his wife, Linda (née Purchase), were blessed with daughter Natalie (Thomas Herrera), and her children, Shantal Hollett, Kaden Geisbrecht and his daughter, Lyvia, Lorissa Geisbrecht and her children, Novah Geisbrecht, Sterling Geisbrecht, and Ezra Geisbrecht, and Theodore Herrera of the USA; son Lauren (Kelsey, née Kreiger), and their children, Shelby Hollett and Asher Hollett; son Jason William, and his stepchildren, Chris Gillingham and Callissa Broomfield (Dylan Taylor); and son Lyndon (Crystal Turatus), and their children, Liam and Lenin.

Millie’s daughter Bernetta and her husband, Lloyd Eddy, were blessed with son Sheldon (Deanna, née Elliott), whose family includes daughter Amelia (Zaiden Burke), whose mother is Tomena Eddy (née Meadows); stepson Landon (Megan Cook) and his daughter, Isabella, born in 2026; stepdaughter Cheyenne Harkins; and adopted son Ashton Eddy, formerly Elliott. Bernetta and Lloyd were also blessed with son Shannon (Kelly Simon), whose family includes stepdaughter Kirsten Eddy, whose mother is Carrie Crossman, and Kirsten’s daughter, Tristynne; and daughter Shaylyn Eddy (Stephen Smith), and her children, Samiah Rose, whose father is Chris; Shelby Renee, whose father is also Chris; Scarlette Pandora, whose father is Stephen; and Sinister Tiberius, “Little Ti,” whose father is also Stephen. Their daughter Stacey (Robert Vermette) has a stepson, Adrian Vermette.

Millie’s late daughter Marilyn and her husband, Gerald Wight, were blessed with daughter Trina (Steven Stratton), and her son, Joey Wight; and daughter Andrea (Sandy Payne), and her daughters, Emily, whose father is Draper Blanchard, and Melody, whose father is Elvis Payne.

Millie’s son David Dale Hollett and his partner, Bonnie Bourassa, have a daughter, Amy, whose mother is Betty Pike, Dale’s ex-wife. Amy and her partner, Richard Murphy, have a son, James Rodman (Julia Newell), and a son, Chase Rodman, as well as a stepdaughter, Rachel Murphy, and a stepson, Gavin Murphy.

David also has a daughter, Kristin Hollett (Chris Boulter), whose children include sons Kobe Taylor and Kylan Taylor, whose father is Colin Taylor, and stepdaughter Addi Boulter; and a daughter, Lindsay (Matt Gallant), whose family includes stepson Kaiden Gallant, son Noah Hollett, and stepdaughter Gabriella Gallant. Kristin and Lindsay’s mother is Heather McKenna of PEI.

David’s stepdaughter Chantelle Harrie (Steve Noble) has a daughter, Taylor, whose children are Jesimae and Dylan. His stepdaughter Danielle Harrie has a son, JJ.

David’s stepson, Mark Bourassa Sr., is deceased. Mark Bourassa Sr., the father of this Mark Sr. and husband of Bonnie Bourassa, passed away at the age of 37 years. The family also includes stepgrandson Mark Jr., stepgranddaughter Mariah, and stepgrandson Cian.

The five children of Millie’s brother, Samuel, are all still living. Robert Parsons had a son, Sean, and two daughters, Shelley and Stephanie, whose mother was Eva. Helen and her husband, Neil Pelley, had a daughter, Amanda, and a son, Trevor. Elaine and her husband, Graham Goodyear, had a daughter, Alison, and a son, Adrian. Donald and his wife, Priscilla, had two sons, Tim and Scott. Keith and his wife, Jan, had a daughter, Nicole.

What a wonderful line of descendants that have filled Millie's life with love!

As a matter of fact, due to age, very few friends are still with us! One very special friend from next door came to visit every two or three days. Her name is Carol, a special lady, always sharing flowers from her garden and making Millie laugh at oodles of stories from her adventures in the ranchlands of BC.

Millie resided for 26 years with her daughter, Bernetta, and her son-in-law, Lloyd, in Logan Lake, BC. It was a good life!

Millie will be missed!
