Every time I come to this page, I sit for what feels like an eternity, staring at the bright, white, blank page before me. The cursor blinks waiting for my words— my pain, my regret, my unanswered questions, my love. I type and erase. Type and erase. Then, every time, without fail, I suddenly see your face and I smile. In that split second I realize it doesn’t matter. You already know. I love you Asher. Every day sweet boy.

It’s been a long time since I’ve written on this page. I use to feel like I needed it to feel close you. It’s bitter sweet the comfort it brings me knowing you’re with Mommy. 
I was about to say I wish so badly you were here but I saw Mommy’s sweet smile in my head and heard her words “we are”

Every second, you and your Mommy are on my mind. Your absence is a shadow cast over everything I do. I miss you both more than words.

Sometimes when this pain overwhelms me I come here. I sit for a few moments staring at this blank page before I write. I think it just makes me feel like you're here. I write and write and write and usually delete most of it before I settle on telling you how much you're loved and missed and how badly this hurts. Because the truth is, that's really all there is. The love and the pain. I can write pages and pages to try and describe this feeling. But at the end of it, I read what I've written and it's the same thing. I love you and I miss you and my heart is broken. That pain will always be there, but baby boy, so will the love ❤

I'm forever thankful that you knew how loved you were by us. We continue to love you with everything we have. Forever.

Love doesn't cease to be just because my eyes can't see you or because my arms can't hold you. Every minute of every day I love you Asher. Every minute of every day I love you Chelsey. I know that you are together and that i will see you both again and I will hold you both in my arms and never let you go.

Last night London slept in her own bed for the very first time. I thought about you a lot. I sat beside her crib while she slept peacefully and I cried. I thought about your little face. I thought about holding you and kissing your warm little forehead before I left that night. Then I thought about that morning. I thought about how much strength Mommy had. How much strength Pippy has. I'm not that strong. Last night, I was more scared than I've ever been in my life. Tonight will be no different. Every night will be no different. Watch over her baby boy. You and Mommy, please watch over her. I love you and I miss you and Mommy everyday.

Today you would have been 2 years old my little love! I try not to let today be a sad day. I try to celebrate your life today. Celebrate that you were born. That you were here. That we held you and kissed you. That we love you. Today is your birthday. February 27th stings since you left. I think it always will. But February 27th 2015 was a day filled with so much anticipation and love and happiness and that is a day worth celebrating. You are in my thoughts and prayers every day sweet boy. Today would of been your second birthday Asher. Your birth was such a happy day, full of love and hope. 
We don't get to sing happy birthday, watch you blow out your candles or eat your birthday cake. We don't get to snuggle you tight, kiss your cheek, take your picture and listen to your giggles.
What we do get Asher is to love you still, always, forever, with broken hearts, we love you.

It's been so long since I've been to this page, not because I haven't thought of you. I think about you every single day. This month is hard, next month even harder. I haven't been able to concentrate. I'm always wondering what your little face would look like. i miss everything you don't get to be. I love you kiddo. Life keeps going, even when you are always missing a piece it doesn't stop even though you feel as though it should of. I wish I could pull you into my lap and cuddle you as tried to run by chasing your cousins. I wish I could smell your little boy smell, like Peter Pan would smell, I wish I could feel your breath on my cheek and heart beat under my hand as I tickled your belly. Wishing will never get me closer to you but it doesn't stop me. I wish baby boy, just one more day. I love you forever Asher, forever and always.

My hearts heavier since you left us sweet boy. It carries you everywhere I go. Some days it's like your little wings lift it up and it doesn't hurt as much. Some nights it feels like a tonne of bricks. But no matter what, you're always there.  Like Pippy says, you are so unbelievably loved.

I forget sometimes how much it hurts. Everyday I think of you and feel blessed. Grateful that I held you, touched your little hands and kissed your little forehead. So much is happening. Sometimes I get swept up in this whirlwind of chaos. I wonder sometimes why I write on here. Sometimes I feel like you know my thoughts before they even leave my fingertips and onto the keyboard. I guess it helps me put things into perspective. When things seem chaotic, I take a moment to look at your picture and write you a message and know that every second we are given is a blessing. You are loved and missed so much my little love. 4 days until Christmas. This would of been your first Christmas and it is so hard to not have you here to experience it. The snow has fallen and its fluffy and white and so cold. I picture you in a snowsuit sitting in it and trying to eat it off your little glove. I wonder how you would like the lights or  how you would be trying to crawl over to the tree and rip the lights and decorations off, they'd be just too tempting for your little pudgy hands to resist. You'd be spoiled with gifts and so many hugs and kisses, instead we are left with toys still on the shelves with only your memory in our hearts as we wonder what would peak your interest. Today hurt like I had just gotten that phone call. I couldn't catch my breath and I felt like I would never stop crying. I am missing you like I don't get to hold you or kiss your beautiful face. I am missing you like my heart is broken and I can't ever put it back together. I am missing you as much as I am loving you and I am loving you as though it will bring you back. I was driving in to town today, the sun was shining down in the valley and the leaves were changing into their fall colours. I was listening to your songs and missing you. It's hard not getting to see you grow up, never knowing. I said your name out loud because I always do when I go somewhere new or do something new; just so your name has been there because you can't. It's fall and you'll never know it, so I said "Asher" I picked apples last week, and you'll never do it, so I said your name there too. Sometimes I write you name to leave behind, like in Vancouver. Maybe somebody will Read it and say your name. Maybe somebody will run their fingers over it. I'm rambling because this is the only place I have to go when I want to lose myself in grief. I love you and I say your name because you aren't here and I don't know how to fill the space. I miss you. I always miss you.

Asher, in 12 days, you changed so much. There are some things in our life that will never be the same. Some in good ways, like when a single butterfly lands beside us. Some in bad ways, like how we feel on the 12th of every single month.
Sometimes we shut down and can't handle the world. Sometimes we smile and think how much joy you bring to our lives, even from heaven. Some of us talk about you often. Some of us cry when no one's around.
Me? I hold your tiny blue brush that your Mommy gave me. Sometimes I hold it and cry. I just sit and I cry. Sometimes I hold it and I smile. I think about my daughter saying "Asher's brush". Some days are good days and some days are bad days. But every single day, you are thought about, you are loved and you are missed so very much.
