Carol "Gail" Orton

Born in Winnipeg, Mom soon found her way out to the best province. That is where she met and fell in love with a young, skinny Albert Orton. It wasn't long before he had swept "the Pearl of the Interior" off her feet and they were wed.

Things got busy fast with four kids that were into everything. As busy as she was, she still found time to

become a bookkeeper, get involved in figure skating clubs, work as a school monitor and spend time with her mom, Grandma Rose, to make a lot of our clothes when we were young. Soon the kids had families of their own and her focus turned to her pride and joy, her grandkids. She was known to them as Grandma Tweek Tweek, Gigi and Grandma DQ.

Mom is predeceased by her husband Albert Orton and daughter Tricia. She is survived by her children Wanda Kuftinoff (Fred), Kevin (Lori Ann), and Darren; Grandchildren Breanne, Nikki, Casey, Hayden, Hailey, Deitrich, Jennifer and Cody; great grandchildren Mackenzie, Summer, Preston, Aubrey, Addison, Brooklyn and Joshua and great great grandchild Christopher.

In most recent years, even though she battled many health issues, she kept her positive attitude and enjoyed the company of her friends and family to the end.

We know that mom is resting comfortably now and nothing hurts.

Please join us in a Celebration of Mom's Life at 10:00 am, Friday September 26, 2025, in the Schoening Funeral Service Chapel.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation to honour our sister Tricia.
