It is with profound sadness we share the loss of Dianne Bernier (nee Hampton) on July 25, 2026. Dianne is survived by her husband of 52 years Lou Bernier, sons Gene Bernier (Jennifer) and Charlie Bernier (Courtenay), grandchildren Harper, Morgyn, Alice, Presley, Logan and Elliott . Also mourning her loss are her brother Fred Hampton (Annette), sisters Kathyanne Kelly (Dana), Patti Price (Dave), and Gayle Hampton (Randy) and numerous extended family members and longtime friends. Dianne was pre-deceased by her parents Olive and Spud Hampton of Chase, and sister Carol Hampton of Salmon Arm.
Born October 18, 1954, Dianne grew up in Chase, then moved to Kamloops after graduating where she achieved her Journeyman ticket in upholstery and worked many years at the Cat & U, but her talents were many. She was an accomplished seamstress, a woodworker, a business woman assisting her husband Lou with E.L. Bernier Enterprises. She was also very active for several years with the WPTA (Western Professional Truckers Association) and advocated for changes within the industry, many of which were implemented due to her hard work. But above all these accomplishments, Dianne’s greatest gift was love of family, which she never limited to blood, but rather included anyone who stepped into her circle. Her circle was wide and we are fortunate that she touched a great number of us throughout her life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, to be held at the Chase Community Hall on August 29th, 2026. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m., with refreshments to follow.
Guests are warmly invited to share memories and stories as we celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman.
