It is with heavy hearts we announce that Dolores (Dolly) Jane Bach, 85-year-old, of Kamloops BC passed away on October 16, 2026.
Dolly was born in Kelowna, BC, on September 15, 1941, to John Bach and Winnie Bach who spent most of their lives in Rutland.
Dolly was the first child of 4 and spent most of her early years on the family farm, a life she thoroughly enjoyed although hard, but there was always food on the table, and she remembers a great childhood. Of note, her lifelong childhood 'buds' June and Donna passed away in their 85th year and, not to be outdone, Dolly happily joined them.
Dolly graduated from Rutland Senior Secondary in 1959 and immediately after joined the staff in the office of her high school. This was the start of her 44-year career within the BC School system, a job she was well suited for and enjoyed every minute!
She took a break and moved to Victoria for a year and a half with Maureen. After that Dolly ventured off to Europe to explore that side of the world.
One of her fondest memories was her Maritime camping van adventure with Betty in 1993 where they attended a Rita MacNeil concert and she was able to meet and hold the door open for Rita as she left the concert hall! Rita was her all-time favorite.
Eventually, she ended up making Kamloops her home and picked up where she left off working for the school board as the secretary until her retirement in 2003.
Dolly had many hobbies including bowling, crafting, thrifting, garage sales and preserving fruits and vegetables for her consumption year-round.
Bowling was her passion and she bowled in teams for 50 years! These bowling friends became another group of friends, like her Shuswap friends that added to her world.
Dolly's gift was her warm and generous nature, and she often fondly reminisced of her friends from around the world. These past few weeks Dolly was in contact with so many of her dear friends who she loved and it made her happy.
Her best buds in Kamloops are Boots, Faye, and Chicky who she wants to thank for all the support and effort they put in these past few months with her battle with Cancer. Not to mention her village of friends, too many to mention here, were amazing. One of her friends, Maureen, flew in from Calgary for one last hug.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
