Evelyn Marie McMillan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Evelyn.

In the final stages of her battle with dementia, Evelyn left us peacefully in her home on the eve of Jan 18th 2025 at the age of 86.

Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many. She was always there when we needed her most to offer her support, wisdom, humor and unconditional love in abundance.

Her radiant smile & beautiful soul lit up any room she entered, she walked with courage, passion and integrity. Her strong spirit and kind heart can never be replaced.

She was Nana to those who loved her.

Nana was an avid Chase Heat hockey fan until she could no longer get there, a fan who’s cow bell & cheers could be heard throughout the arena.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, gardening, cooking feasts for those she loved plus any adventure as long as she was doing it with her beloved Archie. Evelyn married Archie on April 2nd, 1955 this year they would have celebrated their 70th.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts 20:35

She lived by these words.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by her husband Archie who was also her prime caregiver along with her grandsons Heath & Rod & daughter Dawn.

Also she will be deeply missed by her sister, brother, 3 daughters plus many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grand children and many other family & friends she has gathered over the years.

There will be a small family gathering later this week followed by a Celebration Of Life at a later date early summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to any Dementia society in BC.

Also Evelyn’s family gives a sincere thank you to the many supports in Chase who assisted her husband with his wishes to keep her comfortable at home with him.

ie: Chase Home Care Support, Nurse Practitioner Everett Kealty and many Nurses, Doctors, support staff and community members.

Evelyn was a breathe of spring & sunshine to all who knew her. May her journey be a peaceful one, until we meet again.
