Dr. Folashade Hauwa Sorinmade (née Pearce)

With profound gratitude to God for the gift of her life, we celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved daughter, sister, wife, and mother, Dr. Folashade Hauwa Sorinmade (nee Pearce), who passed away on Monday, 21 September 2026.

Early Life and Family Background

Dr. Folashade was born on 28 March 1976 in Zaria, Kaduna State, to Mr. Henry Pearce and Mrs. Olajumoke Scott. She was a precious daughter, a loving sister, and a cherished member of her family.

From her earliest years, Folashade displayed the qualities that would become hallmarks of her character, kindness, determination, compassion, and a genuine concern for those around her. She grew up surrounded by family, love, and values that helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

Education and Career

Folashade began her education at Ahmadu Bello University Staff School, where she completed her elementary education, before proceeding to Demonstration Secondary School for her secondary education.

She pursued her dream of becoming a medical doctor at the University of Jos, where she completed her preliminary medical studies, and subsequently continued her medical education at the University of Maiduguri.

After completing medical school, she undertook her housemanship at Saint Luke’s Hospital and later passed the licensing examination of the Irish Medical Council.

Throughout her professional journey, Folashade demonstrated dedication, determination, and a strong commitment to her calling. She worked diligently

to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and remained committed to giving her best wherever life took her.

Marriage and Family Life

Folashade was a devoted wife and a loving mother. Her family held a special place in her heart, and she took great joy in nurturing, supporting, and caring for those she loved.

As a daughter and sister, she was a treasured and deeply valued part of her family. She shared in their joys, stood beside them through difficult times, and helped create countless memories that will continue to be cherished.

Her Character and Legacy

Folashade was a woman of kindness, strength, generosity, courage, and faith. She had a special way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.

With hearts weighed down by sorrow, yet filled with gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we remember and honor our beloved Dr. Folashade Hauwa Pearce—a woman whose warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was caring and loving, a source of strength and comfort, and a precious presence whose memory will remain forever etched in our hearts. Though her passing leaves a void that words cannot fully express, the love she shared and the lives she touched will continue to speak for her. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted spouse, cherished children, beloved mother, siblings, family, friends, and all whose lives were made brighter by her presence. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace.

A visitation will be held at Schoening Funeral Service on Friday, October 16, from 6-8 pm for those wishing to pay their respects.

A funeral service will be held at Gateway City Church on Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 am followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery.

Friends and family are welcome to gather for refreshments at Schoening Funeral Service following the graveside service.
