Frances was born December 13, 1938, and died July 30, 2026. She was born in Golden BC, though her parents lived in Field BC.
She spent the early days of her life in Field up to Grade 3. She moved to Kamloops after Field, since her father had been transferred there through his work with the Canadian Pacific Railway. She stayed in Kamloops through Grade 12 and senior matriculation. After high school she attended Queen’s University for two years, and finished her degree at UBC with a BA in 1960. She then went on to McGill University for one year, where she received her BLS in 1961. She worked at the Provincial Archives in Victoria BC from 1961-66, and then moved to Vancouver to join the Special Collections Division at the UBC Library. She stayed in that role until her retirement in 2003.
Frances made many friends through her life, and they along with her family members remember her fondly. She will be sorely missed.
A Service of Remembrance will be held for Frances on Thursday, September 17 at 10:30 am at the Schoening Funeral Service (513 Seymour St, Kamloops, BC)
