Jeanne Hazel Chambers, wife, mother, and friend, born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully in Kamloops, British Columbia, on January 27, 2026, at the age of 90.
Jeanne’s life was filled with love, kindness, and creativity. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert; her daughters, Susan and Cathrine (Oliver); her brother Alex Shatford and his wife Lucy; her sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law; and her many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Anne, her father Arthur, and her brother James (Jimmy).
Jeanne had a lifelong passion for cats and was a quilter extraordinaire, crafting beautiful handmade pieces that will continue to bring joy and warmth. She dealt with life’s challenges in her pragmatic ‘Scottish Canadian way’. She loved sharing her ‘IBFINE’ (I am fine) attitude. It was on her BC personal license plate so that everyone would know! She was always game to pack up and move the family from one side of the North American continent to the other. Even living in Indonesia and Thailand for a time. She knew how to make friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 21, 2026, at Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul Street, Kamloops.
We will also supply a streaming link for those who will not be able to attend in person.
Bob, Susan and Cathy would like to acknowledge the patience and humour bestowed toward Jeanne by the caregivers at Gemstone Care Centre in Kamloops. Thank you for who you are and all you do.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne’s honour to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
