We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jeff Filek on August 16, 2025 in Kamloops. Jeff is survived by his spouse Samara, kids Madison (Nicholas) and Carter, father Joe, sister Leanne (Pat), nephew Liam, niece Anneka and numerous other family members. He was predeceased by his mother Theresia.
Jeff was born in Kamloops and grew up in Brocklehurst and Bachelor Heights. He attended high school at St. Ann's Academy. After trying out a number of occupations, Jeff went back to school for computer programming. He found his place at BCLC and worked there for 20+ years as a software developer.
Jeff enjoyed golf, music (he played guitar and drums), and woodworking. His attention to detail allowed him to excel in these pursuits. His and Samara's house has many pieces of his amazing furniture.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the efforts of the first responders.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held in Kamloops at Schoening Funeral Service (513 Seymour Street) at 11am on Thursday, August 28th. Reception to follow.
