Mrs. Lorraine Aurore Tansley (nee Cordonier) passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice in Kamloops on July 3, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Mom always told us of all her adventures of growing up on the Barnhartvale sheep ranch as one of ten children, where Antoinette and Pierre welcomed those in need. Mom’s adventures away from the ranch began when she went to St Ann’s Academy boarding school in Vancouver, followed with earning her LPN in nursing before marrying Marvin and starting her own family. They moved to Alberta where Lorraine became an avid skier, returning to her roots at the Sundre farm with horseback riding and a menagerie of animals. Returning to BC, for retirement at Sicamous, which in Lorraine speak, meant a whole new set of activities. She loved the challenge of dragon boating, ATV’ing and continued skiing and gardening. Lorraine loved her family and friends and was always up for “a visit”. Lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years Marvin Douglas Tansley; Four children, Peter (Debra), Mark (Kathleen), Brenda (David) and Marvin (Gillian); Eleven grandchildren, Mark, Jason, Mikenna, Brynmor, Luci, Eleanor, Morgan, Antoinette, Georgia, Liliane and Wilfrid; Siblings Armand, Louis Rita and Leona. Predeceased by her parents Pierre and Antoinette, siblings Monica, Yvonne, Marie, Peter, and Jeanne. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 15, at 2:00 pm in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour St, Kamloops, (250) 374-1454, with the Reverend Father Paul Simms officiating. In lieu of flowers or gifts please make a donation to https://www.childrenshospital.ab.ca or your charity of choice.

My thoughts and prayers out to the Tansley Family. Meeting Marvin Jr in University was a great thing in my life and the Tansley Family took myself and Jennifer into your family almost like we had know you since kids. I loved being able to go to the Farm and visit or for a dinner. Marvin and Lorraine such welcoming people and I will never forget Lorraine’s laugh...one of a kind. My favourite memory was my first dinner and Marv and Lorraine asking me to give prayers and then all laughing again. All the best today I will be thinking of you. Love Rob/Jenn Watson

Our deepest condolence's at this difficult time. I just wanted to share that our family is thinking of all of you and we have fond memories of mom from the times we spent together, Personally I do and will always remember how well I was treated and how much fun I had skiing with your family,,,, Way back in the late 70's when I bussed out to Louise for some time with my cousins...... Your Mom always was caring and genuine with us all and she is held in high regards by all of us. Please know that you are not alone.
