A life lived. A simple life.
Maria Moosleitner was born in Strasswalchen, Salzburg, Austria in 1928. After war as a young woman Maria set out to find her home. Travelling first to England. Then to Toronto, Canada, then on to Vancouver. She always saw her adventures as an education and was improving herself in studies. She met her love, Franz Joseph Bestler, and they married in 1957. They had two daughters, Gisela and Barbara. Maria remained in the same house for 55 years. Maria's husband, Franz passed away in 1995 and she had to continue alone without Franz for 19 years. She questioned her misfortune to have lost him so soon.
Maria enjoyed her garden and her home, literature, history and the human condition of the world. She loved images of birds and angels. Her desire was always to “do nothing” but that was seldom attainable. She loved her family and her cherished long time friends. She was often visited and visiting. She asked recently, “why am I so loved?”, at which we all replied because you love.
We will gather at informal times and in our thoughts, our memory of her. What was received from and what was given to, by her to all of us during her life. In memory of Maria make an act of kindness.
Many thanks to the staff at Berwick on the Park in Kamloops, B.C.
