Myrna Virginia Rolfsen (nee Bredy) passed away on July 17, 2026 in Kamloops, BC.
Myrna was born on Oct. 23, 1944, in Kindersley, Sask. to Fred and Caroline Bredy. Her idyllic childhood was spent in Laporte Sask. surrounded by the aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved dearly. At the age of 15, Myrna’s parents moved the family to Terrace, BC. It didn’t take Myrna long to settle in to life in Terrace, building the friendships that would last her a lifetime. Myrna had a full and happy life in Terrace, where she met and married her loving husband of 60 years, Norman, and welcomed their children, David and Michelle, into the world. Myrna also enjoyed a 22-year career running the Northwest Real Estate Board.
In 2004, Norm and Myrna made the difficult decision to leave Terrace and move to Kamloops, so that they could be close to their children and grandson. The years in Kamloops were good ones, and Myrna filled her time with volunteer work, teaching Sunday School at Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, travelling with Norm, and spending time with family.
Myrna is survived by her husband, Norman; sister-in-law, Rita; children, David (Carrie) and Michelle (Duane); grandson, Zane; and many close friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Caroline; father and mother in-law, Josef and Lidwina; and brother-in-law, Pierre.
Special thanks to the caring and dedicated team in the Dialysis Unit at Royal Inland Hospital, Dr. Wynne, Bonnie, Dawn, dear friend Maxine, and the wonderful nurses, care-aids, and staff at Kamloops Seniors Village.
A service will be held for Myrna on Saturday, September 5th, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Hills of Peace Lutheran Church (695 Robson Drive, Kamloops, BC)
In honour of Myrna, donations to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation are warmly welcomed. Please indicate that your donation is in memory of Myrna Rolfsen, as these funds will go directly to the Dialysis Unit.
