While cycling today on the KVR near the Little Tunnel above Penticton, I met Gordon and Monica. They told me about Richard and were looking for a beautiful spot and found one to install a bench in Richard's name. I will be sure to stop for a rest on the bench and think about Richard even though I have never met him. My sincere thoughts. Jim Murdock, Summerland

To Helen, Gordon and Family,

Although I only touched Richard's circle of life on a couple of brief occasions, the stories I have read of his passing demonstrate to me a man with a giving heart. 

A giving heart is a full heart. 

Richard's heart was full with a loving wife and daughters, granddaughter, parents, bothers, sister, coworkers, friends, and many cyclist within Canada and the world. 

Richard's memory, his spirit, will live on in all those who made his heart a full one. The world is a better place thanks to Richard.

We were extremely sad to hear of Richard's sudden passing.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.  Richard was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by anybody that knew him.
