I think about Angel often -- every time I look at my yard with all the special plants I got from him over the last 20 years.  Most of all I remember his incredible generosity of spirit.  Sharing his vast sansevieria knowledge, talent and treasure with St Roch,  the community and his plant friends.  

Once I was visiting and buying some plants from him and he wanted to gift a beautiful mature potted specimen to me.  I refused, saying "no, no, I can't take that!  Please just give me a cutting. Or let me buy it from you."  He held up his hand to silence my objections  and said quietly, "when you give something, you give the best you have."  I think about what he said back then and have recounted the story  and his wise words to others often.  

Hawaiians chose names for their children carefully because they believe the child must live up to the name.  So for instance, "Pono" is not bestowed lightly because of the burden of being always righteous and correct.  When I think of Angel and all he did for others in his life, he truly deserved his name.  A life well-lived as an  Angel to all who knew him.  Love to the Ramos Ohana.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family . Angel was such a kind , wonderful man . He often shared with me his photography and flowers / plants that he loved to grow. He always radiate joy, love, and happiness. May his beautiful soul Rest In Peace. He will be greatly missed.  Prayers and love to his family. I’m so sorry 💔

Mr. Angel Ramos was a unique person who I was privileged to have known.  He was a neighbor when my family lived in the Main Camp in Kahuku.  He always had a kind word for everyone he came into contact with.  My condolences to his daughter Marcia, who was my classmate and to all the Ramos family.  Rest in Peace Mr. Ramos.

The Kahuku Community has lost  someone that was the heart and soul of Kahuku.  Through his wisdom  and the many pictures he took during his lifetime,  he represented the lifestyle of what Kahuku was made of.  In time, may  the special memories of all you shared with your loved one fill your heart and bring you peace.  Our warm thoughts and sympathy are with you.
