Mark Tsuyoshi Tomita passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born on September 29, 1958 in Honolulu. Mark attended Castle High School where he graduated in 1976 and served as the Student Government President. He was also the Grand Marshal for the Children’s Parade for the state of Hawaii.
Mark enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he became a missile specialist and certified EMT. Upon discharge, he enrolled at and graduated from Vanderbilt College in Tennessee with his Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Mark then continued his education where he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy Degree at New York University and several other designations.
He pursued teaching health in various universities in New York and California. During his career, he wrote and published 8 books focusing on health and wellness. Mark retired from Chico University and the California School system in 2010. He then returned to Hawaii where he loved fishing and the ocean. Mark also loved water painting but most of all his Corgis.
He was survived by his brother Dean T. Tomita (Wendy) and sister Donna M. Tomita. Services were held for family only on February 6th.
