Paul Alicarte Alisna was born in Waipahu on September 11, 1942, to Pedro and Adelaide (Mar) Alesna. He was the #2 child and the first son out of has 10 children (5 boys & 5 girls). For the first 5 years of his life he was raised by his grandmother, before starting grade school, he moved in with his parents & siblings in Kalihi. Later they moved to the beautiful Windward side where he attended Waihole Elementary school and graduated from Castle B. James High school class of 1960.
While in high school he worked as a warehouse & stock boy at Lin’s Supermarket from 1959 – 1962 and worked at Island Homes Relators doing carpentry work. He served in the Navy from 1962 – 1966 then joined the Navel Reserves (SeaBees) from 1967 – 1976. After serving in the Navy, he joined the Airforce Reserves in 1978 and finally retiring in 1990. While in the armed forces he was given many nicknames such as Pineapple, Shorty & Half-Pint. While serving his country, he also worked as Locksmith at the U.S. Navy PWC Pearl Harbor for 39 years retiring in 2001.
Paul and Kathleen (Furtado) Alisna married in October of 1970 and would go on to have (3) children.
He loved the outdoors and spent his time fishing, diving and camping with family. He also enjoyed playing sports well into his adult hood, he played in the men’s Kaneohe softball league, the PWC mountain ball league and bowled in the Windward bowling league but, his ultimate love was golfing with his buddies.
Paul is survived by his wife Kathleen (Furtado), sons Jason (Kelly Kuga), Preston (Kelly Zuttermister), and daughter Stephanie (Wallace Young), (6) grandchildren & (2) great grandchildren.
Paul’s celebration of life is being held at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday,
November 02, 2023 at 9:00 am.
