96 years old, of Pearlridge, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020.
Know as Mr. D to many, Richard began his work career at Hickam AFB
working on aircraft. He survived Pearl Harbor, went on to oversee aircraft
repair during WWII; retired from the military then earned a BA in Business.
He oversaw engineering in the hotel industry; is a member of the WWII
Pearl Harbor Memorial Hall of Fame.
He was on the original Board of the Hickam AFB Federal Credit Union,
President of the Filipino Catholic Club and member of the Holy Name Society
at St. Elizabeth, Aiea. In his retirement years repaired and painted statues at
St. Elizabeth Church, Aiea.
Survived the passing of his veteran parents, Joseph and Mary, his sister Rita, his veteran
brothers David and James, his wife, Beatriz Kilantang and his daughter Frances Gail.
Survived by his veteran brother Donald, his sister Geraldine, children veteran Richard Jr.,
Sr. Anne Clare, ss.cc., Patricia, Jennifer, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren,
and nieces and nephews.
