peacefully at her home in the early morning of May 10, 2021.
Sadie, was one of the strongest, most courageous, kindest and
loving women to ever walk this earth. Our family was blessed to
have her as our mother.
Sadie was born and raised in Honolulu. She graduated from St
Francis High School in 1946 and from St. Teresa's College,
Kansas City, MO in 1950. After graduating, she became a
lieutenant in the Woman Army Corps, and then a Science
teacher at Kailua Intermediate School.
Sadie met her late husband, Louis DeVirgilio, while stationed at
the Presidio in San Francisco. Sadie is survived by six children:
John, Mark (Irene), Mary, Teresa, Louis (Kazuko) and Damien,
16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the
Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Services will be held on
June 8, 2021 Tuesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park, 45-425
Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, Fellowship 10:30 - 11:30, Service
11:30-12:30. Internment will be at Hawaii State Veterans
Cemetery Kaneohe, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 10:00.
