She was born September 29, 1925 in McFarland, Kansas, the daughter of William and Gertrude Theresa Graves, the fifth of six children. Agnes graduated from Alma High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to William Clarence Yantz on May 7, 1946. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1951.
Agnes was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kansas and served as the Church secretary for over 30 years. She also worked for Sullivan’s Café and Westfield Thriftway Grocery Store. Agnes enjoyed spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren), gardening, sewing and crafts, and bird-watching.
Along with her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law, 2 daughter-in-laws, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 3 brother-in-laws, 5 sister-in-laws, and a great-grandson.
Survivors include her 3 daughters, Delores Jones (Roy), Phyllis Chop, Mary T. Beashore (Stacey); 2 sons, David Yantz and Kenneth Yantz; her brother, George Graves; 36 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 8th from 1:00-2:00PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 2:00pm, a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00PM all at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
