Alberta Wendt

Alberta J. Wendt, 95, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on February 18, 2014. She was born on July 7, 1918, the daughter of Lon and Pearl Johnson of Kansas City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Wendt, Sr.; a sister, Aleene Johnson; and brothers, Glenn and Lee Johnson. Her survivors include her son, Gene (Catherine) Wendt of Leawood, KS; two grandchildren, Wendy (Dan) Stone of Lenexa, KS and Sam (Tanya) Wendt of Leawood, KS; four great-grandchildren, Dustin Abercrombie, Tyler Stone, Taylor Wendt, and Mason Wendt; and several nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Sis worked in the restaurant industry in and around Kansas City, Kansas. The visitation will be held at Maple Hill Funeral Home located at 2200 Shawnee Drive in Kansas City, Kansas, on Sunday, February 23 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 24 at 10:00am with the interment immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens located at 701 North 94th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. The family wishes to say a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Delmar Gardens-Overland Park and Genvita Hospice Care for their care.
