Basil “Foxy” Thomas Brown, 79, Basehor, Kansas passed away October 24, 2017. A visitation will be from 1-2 PM with a funeral service at 2 PM, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will be immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, Kansas 66212
Basil was born on August 19, 1938 in Goucher, S.C. to Thomas and Mamie Brown. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Wofford University in Spartanburg, S.C. He then became Captain for the Air Force and served 20 years. He then went to work with Social Security Administration as a Benefit Authorizer and retired in 2001.
Basil was married to Janice Breuer on September 24, 1988. They celebrated 29 years of a wonderful marriage together. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Leavenworth, KS. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and playing cards.
He was preceded in passing by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Janice of the home; sisters, Rebecca Kirby of Mansfield, GA, Varina Bradberry of Columbia, S.C., and Phyllis Marthers of Gaffney, S.C. and many nephews and nieces.
