I knew Betty for 61 years, she was my sister-in-law actually she said I was her sister.   She was such a loving and kind person, don't think I ever saw her angry with anyone. I am married to her brother Hubert. With him being in the Navy we were gone a lot. We always tried to  make 
 it back to Kansas every year and they visited  us at different places as we moved around. Wish I could of lived closer. You couldn't help but love her and admire her for her love and dedication she had for the Lord. She use to tell me don't cry when I am gone cause I will be with my Lord. It will be such a great reunion when we all get to heaven with  all  our family and friends. Jack was such a blessing for Betty helping her and loving her all the more when she got ill.

In our early sibling years, Betty was my nemesis.  Lording it over me with her year and a half senior knowledge of alphabet and numbers and skill at playing jacks.  In our teen years she was just the girl that happened to live in the house.  She may have cared about what I was doing but I never concerned myself with what she was up to.  About the time I joined the Navy I began to realize what a wonderful kind, generous, loving person she had become.  I learned that in parallel lives we had known many of the same people.  When mentioning her to them they always responded with what a wonderful person she was.  I was impressed.  My sister??  She graciously adopted my growing family and made herself a favorite aunt to my children.  Knowing her for the last 65 years has been truly a blessing.  I am happy for her that she is out of this world of stress and suffering and at last in the arms of her savior, Jesus

We loved Betty so much! She was a devoted wife to Jack and he returned that love in caring for her so tenderly last few years. She was also such a great mother to Dan and Jon and she loved Patti and me unconditionally. She and Jack have taught us so much about sacrificial love. She had plenty of love for all of her extended family, her church family and many more. The love that she had for others was birthed out of her love for Jesus Christ. She lived her life serving Him and others. I can only imagine what it was like for her to wake-up in heaven, to see Jesus face to face, and to be fully aware with no more Alzheimer's! What a glorious homecoming that must have been1 We all look forward to seeing her again someday when we meet Jesus!

While I didn't see Aunt Betty as much in the past several years as I had in my younger days, I have distinct memories of my parents getting together (aside from the holidays) with Betty and Jack, and my brothers and I getting to hang out with the older cuz's. I'm sure she is once again having good conversation with my folks about the good lives they lived.
In more recent years, whern I did see her, I always saw the sweet twinkle in her eyes that my grandmother had, and always felt at ease around her.
I wish nothing but good memories and strength to Uncle Jack, Dan and Patti, Jon and Carolyn, Uncle Hubert and Aunt Helen, Cliff and Steve, and all the grandkids, great grandkids, and cuz's...

While Betty was my sister, at 18 years older than me, I never knew her in my younger years.  In by teen years, however, Betty was always my goto.  She had an infectious smile, made delicious apple pie and the best tacos in the country.  We had many adventures together, many known about and others not so much.  Betty was definitely the matriarch of the family that was full of love. She will be missed by all but we all know she is in a better place.  Our reunion in the future will be filled with job and love.

If I could have chosen anyone to be my sister, it was Betty.  At 18 years older than myself, I hardly knew her as a close sibling.  But in my teen years, she was someone I could always go to.  We shared many adventures together, some known and other not so much.  Betty always treated me and my partner Steve with love and respect.  Her smile was infectious, her apple pie delicious and she made the best tacos in the country.  Betty had a great life, two wonderful boys and lived in an extended family of love.  We will all be reunited in time - in love.

Betty was a great example of a true Christian lady.  My mother, Jean Smith, and Betty were such great friends in their earlier days.  Time has a way of slipping away and changing lives. We will be greeted by Betty in heaven by her usual greeting of a hug and kiss someday.  Looking forward to that day.  She was our adopted sister, mentor, confidant, comforter, loving caring friend.  And yes her apple crumb pies were the best.

Our prayers and condolences are given to your family for your loss. But also, our praise for Betty's newly healed mind and body in heaven. God's blessings and comfort for you.

Betty was absolutely the best mother-in-law ever. I've heard horror stories of other women who have endured horrible relationships with theirs but from the moment Daniel and I were married, I was Betty's daughter! Although she taught me so many things, making a delectable pie crust was not one of them. Her pies were amazing. She loved baking them for her family and church dinners. And how she had time to sew for her grandchildren is beyond me. I have so many memories of the matching sweatsuits and shirts for my three boys. Although Alzheimer's disease had taken so much from mom, she was precious to the last moment. Even when she couldn't remember so many things, when I would cover her with her blanket, straighten her pillow, or give her a drink, she would look me in the eye and say thank you. I loved her so much and will miss her tremendously. I'll see her again someday.
