

Bobby D. Gilmore, 85, passed away April 30, 2013. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 2nd from 6:00-8:00 PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 3rd at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow mass at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Bobby spent most of his life in Kansas City, KS but spent most of his childhood in Hogansville, GA during his life. On August 3, 1962, Bobby married the love of his life, Alice. Together they had 2 daughters, Denise and Vanessa. Bobby served in the Army Air Corp in Guam during World War II for which he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Bobby and Alice served as officers for the United Auto Workers. Bobby worked for Ford Motor Company and retired after 26 years. During Bobby’s life he enjoyed trains, model airplanes, and loved to BBQ brisket and ribs for his family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jacqueline Brown. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice; daughters, Denise Harmon of Alamagordo, NM and Vanessa (Scott) Kochevar of Edmond, OK; step-sons, Tom (Delmira) Rautert of Tucson, AZ and Louie (Sherri) Rautert of Kansas City, KS; step-daughter, Nancy (Paul) Eakin of El Cajon, CA; brother, Jimmy Gilmore of Lovejoy, GA; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
