

Bonnie J. Morton, 80, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away January 7, 2015. Visitation will be from 10:00 am-noon, Monday, January 12th with services to follow at noon all at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 3520 Lake Avenue, Suite 202, Wilmette, Illinois 60091.
Bonnie was born January 21, 1934 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Thomas W. and Reeda Farrell. She graduated from Cushing, Oklahoma High School and she married the love of her life, James Morton on February 2, 1952. They moved to the Kansas City area and Bonnie worked for the Gulley Transportation Company for 40 years as a secretary and was a very active member and past President of the Kansas City Women’s Traffic Club. She loved flowers and tended her garden with great care. Bonnie loved ceramics and had many precious treasures throughout her home. She also enjoyed traveling, and especially enjoyed her trips with the Women’s Traffic Club.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Reeda; her beloved husband in August of 2014, James Morton, and several siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Morton and his wife Diane, and Randy Morton; her grandson, Ryan Morton and his wife Patty; her great-grandsons, Jacob and Sammy Morton; three sisters, Dorothy Cross and her husband Orvin, Doris Patterson and her husband Delbert, and Charlotte Deering and her husband Gary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
