Daryl Kenneth McLain

A graveside service for Daryl will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112 with Military Honors. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 18th & Washington Blvd., Kansas City, KS.

Daryl was born in Manhattan, KS on November 9, 1949 to Kenneth Robert McLain and Ruthelene Eaton. He graduated from Washington High School in 1968, subsequently going to college at Emporia State University and then serving in the US Army from 1971 until 1974. Daryl finished his career working for the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department before retiring in 2005 after 18 years. He enjoyed friends, family, boating, fishing, golf, and all things sports.

Daryl was preceded in death by his Father, Kenneth, his mother, Ruthelene, and his brother, David.

He is survived by his son Ian (Jennifer) McLain of Bonner Springs, Kansas, nephew Andrew (Helida) McLain of El Dorado Hills, California, nephew Matthew (Karie) McLain of Monument, Colorado, grandson Arthur Daryl McLain, and four great nieces and nephews.

Daryl will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kansas.
